I just had such an amazing weekend and actually feeling SO homesick :-/
Friday I took a theatre Jazz class at the Sydney Dance Company so that was great and felt really good to do for myself. Friday night I went to Teeger's for dinner with his family (like extended family as well) It was so lovely and really nice to be in that family setting. He went to the states when he was younger and pulled out his album. Looking through it was CRAZY because he had pictures from beth tfiloh. Low and behold, I knew everyone. I was like "umm thats my brothers best friend, that kid was with my sister last week, shes at my house all of the time!" It was so funny!!
After dinner, I met up with a bunch of kids from UMD. It was SOOOOOOO nice to see familiar faces and felt cool being their local guide. They are away traveling this week but it will be good fun to have some familiar faces around. I took them to the Ivy and we got right in, served straight away and i must say, they were all loving it. I took my one friends around to the Ivy pool bar and when we got back, the guys had left. Later on in the night it was just 2 other girls and I so we went up to VIP and had drinks. So fun and just a great night. Finally talked to daddy on my stumble home and woke up saturday morning feeling ok haha
Saturday I just hung around and was lazy and waited for Helen. The girl I met in Santorini and traveled Greece with. She is HILARIOUS and I was soooo excited to see her. She arrived and we got ready to head out to dinner. Greek restaurant OF COURSE, and in fact, went to a place called "Santorini". Beautiful meal and due to rain, headed back to Bondi to go out. Bar hopped a bit and then went home.
Sunday we woke up and did the walk from Bondi to Coogee. Its a walk of the coastline and you go through all of the beaches. SO nice and glad I did it!!! (again) We hung around coogee as there was live music and a bit of a festival going on. Coogee is where I lived my first week here and I love it. It reminds me of a ski resort town for some reason but the beach is smaller than bondi and there are not as many foreigners. From there we came back and hung out. Headed to Bondi Social for some sangria before getting a beautiful thai meal for dinner. Went out for a bit in bondi and came home for a decent nights sleep.
Monday we woke up and tried to plan some stuff for thailand but with work, time and money, Helen is not going to go (ANYONE wanting to go in june?). We ventured into the city, down to the harbor and got some lunch at the Ivy. Being from Australia and always hearing about "The Ivy", it was really cool for helen to go and see it (and have a champagne lunch of course).
Having helen here was amazing. I started to get really sad and homesick. She was like "im a piece of home". It was like having a piece of vacation here. I miss that freedom and traveling I had in Europe and no responsibility haha. As much as people think im just partying and living "the life" here, im working my ass off. I am paying for EVERYTHING and have no one to go to for the weekend for a free meal and back rub (though I do have AMAZING friends and support here) There really is no place like home. My mind wanders all the time on what I should do. I have a flight in july because it was cheaper to book roundtrip (and they only went as far as july) and the financial year ends June 30th (so I really wouldnt be able to work extensively) but I dont know. It's too early to decide.
Lots to look forward to the next few months and I am certainly taking this experience for everything its worth.
Like we say in Australia, NO WORRIES
